The Beauty of Arizona

My husband Ray and I just got back from our vacation in Arizona yesterday and yep I’m already sharing pictures 🙂  We had the most gorgeous weather the entire trip, it was in the 60’s and sunny.  We landed in Tucson on Thursday night and got ready to hit the road on Friday to Sedona, Arizona.  Up in the mountains is this chapel and of course had to go visit it and get some pictures.

My mom lighting a candle for her mom who passed a couple of years ago and her aunt who recently passed.

One of the coolest things we did was take a jeep ride through the mountains of Sedona at sunset.  The photographer in me went nuts with how gorgeous the light was and how it really brought out the red in the rocks the more the sun set.  Seriously the light was to die for!!!!!!  Oh and the views OMG the views were spectacular.  Seriously breathtaking!!!!!!!

My absolute favorite picture from the whole trip 🙂

The redness of the rocks as the sunset was seriously surreal.

The next day Ray and I winded through the mountains of Flagstaff on our way to the Grand Canyon.  This view came into our view and we had to stop to get some pictures.  We weren’t the only ones, a group of college kids did as well and I took a group photo for them and they snapped one of Ray and I.

Ray and I 🙂  Photo taken by one of the college kids.

I took tons and tons of pictures at the Grand Canyon, it’s truly awe-inspiring to see.  Ray had never seen it before and was just blown away and all the detail.  Funny story that we both will never forget either is me falling at the Grand Canyon.  Okay I’m so making it sound worse than it is.  As you can see the snow in the pictures, there were also patches of ice on the trails walking up to view the the Grand Canyon.  I stepped onto the ice and my feet just slipped out from under me.  I had my camera so I let myself fall flat on my butt so I wouldn’t damage it.  Ray looked at me in horror and I immediately starting laughing.  He then started laughing with me once he knew I was ok 🙂

We then headed back to Sedona and hit the outskirts right as the sun was setting so of course a ton more pictures were taken 🙂

And to end a silly one of my husband, who will probably kill me when he knows I posted this picture but it’s so funny 🙂
