I’m going to start out with a disclaimer – this is going to be emotional, so grab some tissues. I asked Christina to share a few thoughts on why this was emotional for her, her husband, her kids and the rest of their families.
“Since my husband’s cancer diagnosis, our family has spent much of the past year building precious memories and living life unabashedly. When my idea of a secret vow renewal ceremony came to fruition, I cannot describe the emotion and joy that not only filled our hearts, but those of our family and friends who were able to attend alongside us. This beautiful moment in time, that has been so elegantly captured in photo, serves both as a celebration of our love and a story of love to last for all eternity. I am unbelievably thankful that my children will be able to forever look back and remember this special day of love, happiness, and health.” – Christina Yarbrough
I normally don’t edit all the ceremony photos to be black and white, most are actually in color if you look at our previous weddings. But the emotion here just begged for all the vow renewal photos to be black and white so the emotion really shines through.
The above image is my favorite!!! They were exchanging vows and the raw emotion and tears were so real and honest and lovely. I think their family and friends were getting choked up at this point too and I wiped away several, several tears. (Ok I had to fight myself from bawling) because the love was so raw, that you couldn’t help but cry.
In the above picture, Justin’s son didn’t want to leave his side and just held onto his hand.
We stepped out onto the stairs for a group photo and it was hot and the sun was blinding so the image isn’t the perfect everyone stare and smile and the camera but I feel it still shows love and life. I love capturing kids being kids too, and those are the photos you look back at that make you chuckle.
Afterward everyone enjoyed yummy fajitas at Pappasito’s Catina and just enjoyed each other’s company.
Christina surprised Justin with a cake that had an fun photo from their wedding day printed on it. He laughed so hard because it was them doing the chicken dance.
We stepped outside for a couple of family photos for them. It was such an amazing day for them, that even though these are posed images, you can still see the joy radiate from them.
Thank you so much Christina for having me capture such a beautiful day for you and your family. It was the biggest honor!!!
