I flew in this past weekend for my brother Jason and his wife KC’s day after session in Laguna Beach. We wanted to do something epic and unique and we thought Laguna Beach was the perfect spot. It really allowed us to get some super cool shots. Jason and KC wed in a really funny and just overall joyful ceremony (with a few tears sprinkled in) on January 30th. It was held in a warehouse just north of the Burbank area near Los Angeles. Since Jason is my brother, we felt it was best that I enjoyed his wedding as family and not as their wedding photographer. It was the next day that I heard from my parents, Jason and KC’s photographer never took a photo of them together on their wedding day. I felt so bad this happened to them. We talked about flying to back out to California to fix this situation and we could do a day after session. It wasn’t easy coordinating our schedules together but finally made this past weekend work. We texted and chatted on the phone about locations and settled on the majestic Laguna Beach. The rocky type shore and the way it looked was just simply breathtaking, It wasn’t the easiest of shoots with the rocks, they hurt really bad and trying to make sure no one slipped. But we rocked it out and got some killer shots. I even brought a go pro and pulled it out for a couple of shots. Jason and KC’s friend Paddy officiated their wedding and he even joined in the fun so we could get a really cool sunset ceremony-esque shot for them. I hope they feel these photos bring them joy and they can have photos so much more unique and really more them 🙂
She really is stunning and the perfect person to go through this crazy life with my brother. Basically meaning she won’t take his shit. hahaha anyone who knows my brother, knows he needs someone like that. I’m so glad it’s KC and I get to call her my sister.
Her dress really matched the waves of the ocean so we really highlighted that here.
The one below was taken with the GOPro camera. It was so much fun to take that out and play with some interesting shots and angles.
We had a couple of holy crap moments with the waves but I really loved how they turned out.
Paddy stepped in for a few photos so we could get a first kiss type shot. Kind of like an elopement on the rocks.
The light was really stunning that day and I think we utilized it to the fullest. It was a blast taking the creative shots of you two and so glad KC has joined our family. I wish you both the best and can’t wait till we get together again!!!
