John and Kimberly were married on Sunday in a beautiful daytime wedding at Ashton Gardens near Denton, TX. So I get to show off their pre-wedding portraits taken at the Dallas Arboretum and Arts District in Dallas. We were pretty lucky to have a strange cold front in July and we had beautiful weather for their session. Normally in July, we are dealing with triple digits in Dallas so it was sooooo nice to have it in the low 80’s. It allowed us to take a lot more pictures and not worry about the heating cutting our portrait session short. Also, the greenery has really been lovely this summer and hasn’t withered from the extreme heat and helps to make gorgeous photos like these 🙂
Kimberly wore her reception dress for these and doesn’t she look stunning!!!! I just loved how classic it looked and what I love is that it never goes out of style. I also have to say that I love wedding dresses are allowing more options besides the strapless of a few years ago. And so grateful to people like Kate Middleton for showing people how a dress with sleeves is timeless and gorgeous.
I love using framing in photos and this area was sooooo perfect for that. It really helps to highlight them and have them stand out. It is my favorite photograph from this session!!!!!! And it’s one of the reasons I love love love photographing at the Dallas Arboretum. There are lots of hidden spots and little nooks and the light is always different. It may be the same place but I always get something different :).
Pretty in Pink 🙂
These yellow flowers really had my creative juices flowing especially how they appeared in the reflection pool. We made a relaxed wedding portrait in front of them and it’s one of my favorites!!!
