Because I truly believe a coordinator makes a couple’s day so special, I am reintroducing this post.
Oh the benefits of having a Coordinator or at least a Day of Coordinator are endless., However, I will touch on the top 7.
1) They will follow up with all of your vendors a few weeks before the wedding. You won’t have to. When it is only a few weeks before your wedding, the stress builds and you have so many little things to do (trust me I know). This is one thing you won’t have to do. Your Coordinator or Day of Coordinator (or DOC) will let every vendor know their arrival time, where to be, etc. They will also keep you on schedule the day of the wedding and let you know when it is time to walk down the aisle.
2)Building on number 1, they will create a timeline for your day. As stated above, in the timeline it will have when each vendor is arriving and where. Time for pictures will be scheduled, the ceremony start time, reception start time, all the little things for the reception (cake cutting, first dance, parent dances, etc). They also make sure that each vendor doesn’t go over their allotted time so therefore you aren’t charged extra. How great is that? Seriously it is one thing you won’t have to stress over.
3) They are there for your interest. They want to make sure your day runs smoothly and that you are happy and having fun on your wedding day. So if anything goes wrong, they are there to fix it immediately. They know how to think and act quickly when a problem arises and fix it. And you will never know there was an issue.
4) Vendors. It is so overwhelming searching for wedding vendors and can be tough to know if you are hiring the right one for you and your wedding. A coordinator has gotten to know you and what your desires are for your wedding. They can then recommend the best wedding vendors for you. These are people they know and trust and put you in the best capable hands. Plus they know your budget and can make sure you stay on track. That’s always a good thing.
5) They plan for the unexpected and think and act quickly. They come up with last minute solutions when it is pouring raining and your ceremony is supposed to be outdoors. Texas weather is so unpredictable and a planner can come up with a solution that works and keeps the wedding day on track. And none of your guests can stay dry 🙂
6)They allow the photographer and DJ to do their job. Ok you might be thinking, what? But seriously if you don’t have a coordinator then the photographers and DJ become your coordinators. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t mind until it interferes with us doing our job of documenting your day. For example, when it comes to the cake cutting, couples don’t know what to do. The coordinator can step in and show you while we take pictures. If you don’t have one, then we show you and it keeps us from snapping away.
7) Your mom can relax. This is the best reason to have a coordinator. If you don’t, your mom will be running around trying to make sure everyone is happy, instead of relaxing and enjoying your wedding. Seriously, I’ve seen it happen. I can tell you from experience, those weddings with coordinators run so much smoother than those without one. I see couples having much more fun when they know they have someone taking care of everything.
So that is my top 7 reasons for having a Coordinator at your wedding. It really is worth it and you can just relax and enjoy your wedding day.
Here is a list of some amazing coordinators in Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex (in no particular order)

Samantha FosterThis is so very true! Coming from a brides stand point and from a vendors stand point having a planner is a must, if you can’t afford a full coordinator which is ideal, make sure to at least have Day Of Coordination. It is essential to the couples and their parents having a smooth, enjoyable wedding experience. If you are going to spend all this time, money and love creating something, don’t skimp on implementation. All the greatest ideas and decor in the world are nothing without someone to put them in motion and keep them in motion. Great post!
