Ok just jumping right into it, this storm was CRAZY!!!!!! I have lived in Dallas since 1987 and I can count on one hand the number of times ice has lasted 4 days like this. Trees fell as the ice piled up and caused the branches to give under the weight. That caused power outages across the DFW Metroplex and many people had to wait it out or try and travel the ice-covered roads to stay with family. But as I looked around at the fallen limbs, the photographer in me came out. I saw the beauty in how the trees had given way and the colorful leaves still present. They have this really interesting, organic look to them and I couldn’t help but go photograph a few in my neighborhood. It’s very sad to see so many trees have fallen with this storm but really wanted to show there is still beauty there to photograph and no matter what, a tree is still beautiful to look at.
Well the ice is starting to melt and everyone can finally get out and about. I know for some cabin fever was starting to set in. But I hope you can find the beauty in these photos 🙂
