For this blog post I wanted to show something a little different.  Back in 2003 I had the chance to travel to Italy with some of my fellow classmates at TWU and study Art History with Dr. Calabrese.  I can tell you nothing beat seeing the art in person, it is truly awe inspiring.  This...

      Dallas Bridal Show

Ok I wanted to share the pictures I took of PeaPod Productions’s booth at the Dallas Bridal Show because they are showcased some great ideas for weddings.  I love the idea of a popcorn buffet!!!!  It is a different alternative to candy buffets and they still give your wedding guests a yummy treat.  I also...

      • LaceyLove the popcorn buffet. Two great places to get popcorn of different colors and flavors: Mom and PopCorn in McKinney and Uptown Popcorn located in NorthPark Mall and in the shopping center across from the Allen Outlet Mall.

I love the colors and the tea party idea. How fun!ReplyCancel

      It’s All About the Shoes!!

Ok this one is for the ladies.  We  love shoes!!!  I mean come on they are the perfect accessory and a killer shoe rocks.  It can transform an outfit.  One of my favorite wedding trends is the fun, funky, colorful shoe paired with a wedding dress.  I think it adds that hint of personality to your...

As wedding photographers we see it all.  What works, what doesn’t work for weddings?  So we thought that we would start posting some advice for all the upcoming brides out there.  Once a week we will address a topic pertaining to weddings.  It could be time lines, lighting, formals, cutting the cake, favors, children at...

      • MaryAbout how much time should I allow for formals? I’m a little worried about running out of time. Thanks!!ReplyCancel

      • LauraOur DJ thinks we should have our first dance right after we enter the reception so that everyone’s attention will be on us. I can’t say that I remember the timeline for most of the weddings I’ve attended, but the last two were done two ways.

In one, the couple had their first dance towards the end of dinner. It’s true that not all eyes were on the couple, but I didn’t think the dance was awkward (like the DJ said it would be.) In the other wedding, the couple did go straight into their first dance, but since we were towards the back (nd everyone was standing)we couldn’t see the dance. Also, we were very hungry and the dance felt like it went on forever.

My experiences make me think that the guests would enjoy being able to watch (or not watch) the first dance from their tables while they are finishing their meal. But it’s entirely likely that I’m not seeing the big picture. Thoughts?

        Thanks!ReplyCancel
