Pete and Meredith’s Wedding at Royal Lane Baptist Church | Dallas Wedding Photographers

I was so thrilled that I was Pete and Meredith’s wedding photographer. Their wedding ceremony was held at Royal Lane Baptist  Church and their wedding reception was at Blue Mesa in Dallas.  These two are so sweet and totally head over heels for each other. And I was soooo beyond excited it was Meredith’s turn to get married; she has been a bridesmaids in 3 previous weddings I had photographed. Everyone was so happy for Meredith and I always love seeing friends show so much love and support for each other.

When I took Pete and Meredith’s engagement pictures, these two were the perfect pair and Pete was so kind and romantic with Meredith, along with being laid back and making her laugh. You can see those photos here.  The way he proposed to Meredith is super sweet and he put lots of effort into his plan. Here is their wedding proposal story in their own words.

“Peter completely surprised me, which is what he wanted.  He told me we were going to a birthday party at the Arboretum for our friend Charles’ birthday.  I didn’t believe him at first and told my friend, Ana.  She warned Pete that I was suspicious, so he got Charles and his wife, Michelle, to reinforce his story about the party.

When we arrived at the Arboretum that night, he told the person at the gate that we were there for the George party.  (George is Charles and Michelle’s last name.  He was still working hard to fool me even as we got there.)  We got picked up by a golf cart in the parking lot.  She drove us into the gardens, and dropped us off.  She told us to walk a certain way, and we would find the birthday party.  We were walking and chatting about the pumkins that were everywhere.  It was beautiful outside.  We walked by a bench that had rose petals and champagne.  I made a comment about how pretty it was, and I thought, “I wonder if someone’s going to get engaged right there…”.  He started walking toward the bench, and I started to realize that person might be me.

When we got to the bench he reminded me of the time when we were first dating, and he told me he would make me laugh everyday.  He told me he wanted to do that for the rest of our lives.  Then he got down on one knee and told me to sit on the bench because I was still standing!  He had his friend, Collin, taking pictures of us.  As we started to walk around and enjoy the garden he has reserved for us, I noticed my friend Chelsea hiding in the bushes!  She had decorated the bench and played music for us.

It was all amazing and more than I ever could have imagined.

He told me he made dinner reservations for us, and as we headed to dinner, he wouldn’t let me call anyone.  I decided that there were probably people at the restaurant.  I figured maybe my parents and his mom would be there along with a few friends.  We walked in, and there were probably 40 people there!  One of my friends, Emily, even came from out of town!  I was so surprised!

It was so wonderful to share our special night with our close friends and family members!

Getting engaged to Pete was the best night of my life so far.  Aside from all the spectacular planning and scheming he did, I was finally getting to tell people that I’d met and fallen in love with my future husband.”

Meredith wrote her mom a letter and gave her a small token of appreciation. I love capturing such wonderful moments with brides and their moms.

The groomsmen played it up as they didn’t have the ring and their joke had everyone cracking up.

It is a amazing when a group of friends have been there for each other since middle school/high school. They have all been bridesmaids in each other’s wedding and we have been so honored to capture their weddings.
