Let’s start with the first question we get, who is K & S Photography? Well the K is for Karey Doelling and S is for Shauna Benoit. We are the owners and principal photographers of K & S Photography.
We met while attending Texas Women’s University and in 2004 we received our bachelor degrees in Fine Arts with a concentration in photography. Throughout all of our classes we found that we both had very similar photography styles and artistic influences.
During college and afterwards, we both pursued jobs in a variety of photography and art related fields. We worked freelance jobs for publications, assisted commercial and portrait photographers, worked in art galleries, and even worked in film labs. We both have over 10 years of photography related experience. It’s amazing to think we have been fortunate enough to work within the photography field for so long.
Karey’s wedding to Jeremy Doelling was in 2006, and Shauna married Ray Wyatt in 2007. We both married our high school sweethearts (super cute I know!!!) During this time we both photographed each other’s bridals and weddings and got our first inspiration of photographing memories for someone that last a lifetime. Shortly afterwards, we began to have friends ask us about photographing their weddings, and K & S Photography was born in 2008.
It has been great working together for the past seven years in a career that we are so passionate about. From the beginning, we have made it our goal to capture the memories that will last a lifetime. Our approach to photography is photojournalistic – meaning we capture the special moments of your wedding day in an unobtrusive way. Whether it’s the flower girl stealing icing off the cake or a sweet exchange between the bride and her father, we want your memories to last through our images. Our goal is to fill your wedding photos with all the emotions of the day. We have achieved that goal when you look back at your pictures and really feel the emotions of each captured moment.
And what is so wonderful is when we see our couple’s lives grow with children. It is a gift to see their children grow from year to year and to document those changes with photos. We love to capture you sword fighting with your children or that soft kiss they give you on the cheek. We really feel these memories need to be captured too, because they grow so fast.
