Karey and I were so honored that Bride Associates asked us to provide the wedding photography for their semi-annual Faux Wedding held at the Melrose Hotel in Dallas.   The ladies at Bride Associates are true professionals and they make sure every detail on wedding day is taken care of.  Not to mention they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. 

We also want to thank all the soon to be brides for coming out and we hope you all took home some fabulous ideas for your wedding.  And of course we hope that you had an amazing time, it sure looked like everyone did.  So I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures below.

The getting ready shots are some of my favorite.  I love love love capturing the bride as she is preparing to make her grand entrance and marry the man she loves.  When she slips into her dress and suddenly it hits her, this is really, its really happening.  The veil goes on as she tries to fight back the tears. 

Ok well in this case our faux bride and groom were already married to each other but I think some of the same emotions flooded back.  Let me say, the bride looked beyond stunning in her dress and birdcage veil from Circle Park Bridal.  I just can’t get enough of birdcage veils and feathers, etc. I love it all!!!

OMG, here, she is just breathtaking!!! 

The rooftop of the Melrose is the perfect spot for a wedding ceremony. 

Ok even though this was a faux wedding, I love that the bride had the same emotions that every bride has on their wedding day.  When a bride sees her groom as she walks down the aisle, I love that the smiles are not contained.  They grin from ear to ear and I love my job because I get to capture that.

Ok right here is my favorite part of a wedding.  They bride and groom have just been pronounced husband and wife and the huge deep breath they both take and when they exhale all the stress is released.   I never get tired of this moment.

Ok how gorgeous is this reception.  Using lighting at your reception really tranforms the space from uplighting on the walls to pinspotting your centerpieces.  It just looks great in photos and highlights the centerpieces so you guests can enjoy them more.  Also I love the  linens, that is another simple touch that really makes your reception unique.  Trust me, if you combine these two elements, your guests will stop for a second when they enter and say WOW!!

Ok this had to be one of the best entrances.  What bride and groom wouldn’t want a trumpet and trombone leading them into the reception. So fun!!

Real flowers on a cake so add a little something extra to it that I love! 

A good dj and/or band really make for one killer reception.  Everyone has the best time and will remember your wedding for years to come.

So as promised here is part 2 of Derek and Sarah’s wedding at Ferrari’s Italian Villa in Grapevine.  Ok you have to check out the image below.  What a great way to incorporate a personal touch into your wedding day and bling out your wedding cake.

I just love cake cuttings. They are also so unpredictable and make some of the best pictures. 

Ferrari’s made a special Italian Creme Cake for Derek and Sarah that gives them good luck in their first year of marriage.  That was so sweet and unexpected. 

Below are pictures of the newlywed game.  Just in case you are wondering what the newlywed game is, the bride and groom receive an object that represents the bride and one that represents the groom.  In the case, the beer is the groom and the champagne the bride.  They are then given a serious of statements and they raise the object who best fits that statement but the bride and groom don’t get to see each other’s answer. For example, who is better at cooking (in my case that would be my husband).  It really gives the crowd a good laugh and is a lot of fun.

Ok the image below is one of my favorite.  This was the final dance of the night and a single tear came from Sarah.  It was so touching and it moments like this that I’m so glad to be a wedding photographer.

I’m finally finding the time to update all those things that need to be updated, our website, the blog with wedding pictures, our Facebook FanPage, etc.  We have been busy with weddings over the past few months that I am just now blogging Derek and Sarah’s wedding that took place on March 27 at Ferrari’s Italian Villa.  I just love this restaurant and the food is to die for. 

So you might be wondering why the first couple of pictures are of a shooting range.  Well Derek, his dad, and groomsman went skeet shooting the morning of the wedding.  Karey photographed them while I was with the girls as they were getting their hair and make-up done (girls guys have it so easy don’t they)  It is really a great idea though to have your photographer follow the boys around the morning of the wedding.  It’s nice to have those pictures so you can look back and see what your husband was doing just a few hours before you walked down the aisle.

Derek and Sarah are super cute and so sweet together.  I knew they would be an amazing couple when I did their engagement session at the Fort Worth Stockyards.  So I enjoy their super cute wedding and stay tuned for part 2 of Derek and Sarah’s wedding and for Sarah’s bridals.

Dan and Laura held their wedding in Dallas on July 10th and Karey and I were honored to be photograph their special day.  Their wedding was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and their reception was at the Old Red Museum in Dallas’ West End.

Let me just say I love love love Dan and Laura, they are so much fun and are two people that just “get” each other.  I knew they were something special when I photographed their engagement session (which was featured on Dallas Wedding Planner, check out their engagement feature here)  These two are want truly makes my job as a wedding photography the best job.

I wanted to share a few preview images from Adam and Stephanie’s wedding last weekend.  You may remember the preview of Stephanie’s bridals I just posted. I just loved this wedding.   These two are truly meant to be and Karey and I were honored to be able to photograph their dallas wedding. 

They had their reception at the very cool Marc Events in Dallas’ Design District.  More images will follow from their wedding and Stephanie’s bridal session.   But for now, enjoy these images.

So finally here is part 2 of Trevor and Elizabeth’s wedding at Winfrey Point in Dallas.  Just for those that have never heard of Winfrey Point it is a small house type building by White Rock Lake that can be rented out for weddings and other events.  It’s really cute and you can decorate however you want.  I loved that Trevor and Elizabeth used potted plants for their centerpieces instead of the traditional cut flower.  It’s so green of them and awesome that they thought of the enviroment when planning their wedding.  Ok well I just realized I failed to grab one of those pics to post but I assure you they did. 

I also loved the lighting they used, a soft pink.  It just goes to show that lighting can really transform a space and add a little more elegance to your wedding.

Trevor and Elizabeth went straight into their first dance after they were introduced.  I think its a great way to make an entrance and gives you a moment with each other before you go mingle with all of your guests.

Trevor brews his own beer so it was really cool he was able to brew beer for the wedding, of course the groomsmen helped too.  Before I forget Trevor is part of the very talented Dallas band Four Left Turns.   They have played at American Airlines Center, I was told outside while the preMavs activites were going on and they have regular shows at Adair’s.  Ok now back to the wedding pictures.

I love capturing the funny, silly and just plain goofy moments that happen at weddings.  In one of the pics above, 2 of the groomsmen decided to relive dirty dancing with that infamous lift.  Needless to say they didn’t quite get it but its the effort that counts, right.

Thanks Trevor and Elizabeth for allowing Karey and I to be a part of your day.  You two are truly meant to be and we are so happy for you.
