A Dallas Photographers approach to Wedding Photography

Every photographer has a different eye, a different way of photographing their subjects.  So how do Karey and I approach our photography?  Basically we want it to be FUN.  Getting your picture taken should be fun and not stressful.  We love love love it when are clients are themselves and they can be silly and laugh.  We want you to look back at your pictures and think, WOW I had a good time at my wedding or our portrait session was so much fun.  We want to capture our couple’s true personalities; afterall, the pictures we take are about you two as a couple.

When it comes to your wedding day, Karey and I will photograph it in a photojournalistic way.  That means we  are not going to pose you, well with the exception of family formals.  We are not going to have you look at the camera and smile.   We want to capture those natural reactions that occur.  That makes the photo real.  It shows the emotion. Those are our favorite photos and why we love being wedding photographers.  It’s capturing those little moments on camera that mean so much to our couples.

Here is just a small sampling of what we capture.  To see more, visit our website, www.kandsphoto.net

Big News To Share

I announced a little over a week ago that I had some big news to share but that you would have to wait.  Well, I’m sharing it now.  I am so honored to officially announce that Karey and her husband are expecting.  Karey is 13 weeks along and is due on July 19th.  So please join me in wishing Karey and her husband, Jeremy, a huge CONGRATULATIONS!!!!  Her and Jeremy are beyond ecstatic and you will see lot and lots of pictures when he or she is born.  Who knows, we may also run a baby pool for Karey (hint hint).   And of course like any new parent, they have their nerves so any words of wisdom you would like to leave would be great.

Karey is allowing me to post one of her sonogram pictures from her 8th week (I think it is her first).  Again I am so excited for Karey and Jeremy and can’t wait to meet their little one :)

Ringing in 2011 With a New Website.

I know I’ve been a little quiet this past week and I haven’t blogged at all.  It’s because I have been busy with our new website and I am happy to announce it is now live.  The web address is still the same, www.kandsphoto.net.  There are a lot of weddings, bridals, engagements, day after sessions featured on our site that we just haven’t had a chance to blog (but I will) or you have just seen a sneak peak.  Another great feature of our new website is it can be viewed on your mobile phone.

I did mention that when the new site went live that we would be raising prices.  Our wedding package with 2 photographers now start at $2900 and our wedding package with 1 photographer start at $1800.  This pricing is for all Dallas and Fort Worth Weddings, for pricing on your destination wedding, contact us and we can give you a quote.

But (yes there is a but) we are also rolling out our 2011 special.  If you book K & S Photography as your wedding photographer by January 31, you will receive 11% off your wedding package.  Its our way of ringing in the New Year.

We want to congratulate all the brides to be that became engaged over Christmas and New Years and we look forward to hearing from you and being a part of your special day.

Wishing Everyone a Happy New Year

First off I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.  2010 has been such an amazing year; we are truly blessed do be able to do what we do.  As a wedding photographer it is such an honor to be asked to document the most important day in a couple’s life, their wedding.

I also wanted to share that K & S has a lot of wonderful things happening in 2011, starting with a new website. Well I’m currently working on it but it should launch in about a week.  One thing I wanted to share was that when the new website launches, our wedding photography packages will increase.  So all you Dallas and Fort Worth brides who just received something that sparkles (Congrats!!) that are now planning weddings, contact us today and save.  Our old pricing will stand to any couple who contacts us before January 7th.

I also want to give a shout out to our first intern, Alyssa.  She is a senior at Texas Woman’s University and we are so excited to have her.

I have more news to share but it will have to wait until the New Year.  I hope everyone has a Happy New Year and for wonderful things to come your way in 2011.

Those Little Moments

Ideas come to me in the most random of ways.  I normally don’t do any sort of contest like vote for the best photo by commenting and that couple/family will get something.  I’m breaking my rule here but I’m doing it slightly different.

I just posted on Facebook “I’m always amazed how one decision, one moment, one day can change your life forever.”  This is so true for myself as I made the decision back at the age of 17 to go to prom with this boy I didn’t know and 7 years later I married him.  That one little yes changed the entire course of my life.  I love telling the story of how Ray and I met.   I also love listening to my clients tell how they met each other.  I literally have to fight back the tears on some of them as fate really brought these two people together.

Ok so now to my contest.  To all of my former, current, future bride and grooms, I want your story.  I want the full details. I want to laugh, cry and really just hear your love for each other.  It must be truthful though.  Email it to me at kandsphoto at gmail dot com.  The deadline is January 10th.  So hurry, I’m not giving you much time, I know.

I will then post these stories as they are given to me but I will not name the couple so it will be couple #1, couple #2, etc and then the voting starts.  Whoever has the most comments a week after the blog goes up, get a really cool gift, which is going to remain a secret.  It could be anything.

I look forward to reading all of your amazing, heartfelt, wonderful stories.  Oh and PS this doesn’t have to be just the Dallas and Fort Worth Brides (if we photographed, 0r will photograph your wedding, we want you to enter ).  Ok go!!!
