I just loved working with Mark and Jamie, these two are so much fun and so in love.  We had a blast during their engagement session and at their beautiful wedding at the Dallas Arboretum.  I received this Thank You postcard in the mail a few days ago and  wanted to share because this truly validates what we do as wedding photographers.  They had the sweetest things to say. “Thank you so much for being our photographer! We love our photos and we love you. You did such a great job managing our wild families and captured some awesome moments! Thank you so much, you did a wonderful job! Jamie and Mark”

Plus I want to say Thank You to Mark and Jamie for the Thank You card, haha that does sound a bit funny but you get the drift.

Let me just start out saying, I love love love these pictures!!!! I had such a hard time narrowing down which ones to post on the blog.  If I had it my way, this post would have 100 images.  I just loved working with these two as they are so much fun and Philip loves to make Amy laugh. If you saw the wedding pictures from Philip and Amy’s wedding (if you didn’t click here to see them) you may recognize some of the pictures.  This session was actually done a few weeks before their wedding.  Amy let me know that for her culture, its tradition to take pictures in your wedding attire  so they can then be displayed at the wedding.  The theme for their wedding was movies, so we focused on getting some really cinematic images along with the fun, goofy ones that really show of their personalities.  Philip was nervous getting his picture taken but I think he did an amazing job and I love the pictures where he makes Amy laugh as their personalities shine through and those are my favorite images to capture.

We started their session at the W Hotel in Dallas since that is where their wedding was being held.  Words cannot describe how amazing the W Hotel is to take pictures at plush I had a gorgeous bride and handsome groom to work with.  I was one happy wedding photographer I mean just look at the amazing chandeliers, they are to die for!!!!

Amy is beyond stunning here. LOVE IT!!!!!

We actually had to spread their session out over two days because of bad weather and crazy thunderstorms.  When back up a week later, we took pictures at Fountain Place in downtown Dallas and then moved on to some pretty sunset pictures at the Southside on Lamar.

These two pictures below have to be two of my very favorite images from this session.  I love capturing a couple’s personality on camera.

These were taken towards the end of the session and I love how they just let loose and had fun with it!!!

I meet up with Sergio and Lacey in Downtown Dallas for their Day After Session in December.  It was a bit chilly that day and Lacey was such a trooper and totally rocked this session.  Lacey totally put the session in my hands and let me pick the location so Downtown Dallas it was. I love the city vibe and the colors.  Plus it would allow for a very fun, modern session.  I love it when couples trust me and let me run rampant with my vision.  Plus I thought the city vibe worked really well with Lacey’s stunning dress from Circle Park Bridal (my favorite bridal boutique)

In other words, this wedding photographer had a ton of fun photographing this day after session.  I know Lacey and Sergio had a ton of fun as well.  Here is an email I received from Lacey (I love getting emails like this)

Hi Shauna,

Oh. My. Gosh.  I absolutely LOVE them.  I know I always sing your praises and tell you how much I love your work, but seriously, you have outdone yourself.  What a BRILLIANT idea to do the session in downtown Dallas!   I am so glad we did a day after session.  So glad.  I honestly don’t know what else I can say to communicate how absolutely amazing I think they are.  I love the buildings in the background.  I love all the different colors.  I love the black and white photos.  I LOVE the necklace – I think of it often, ha.  I love the way you “staged” us.  They have such a modern feel to them.  I love it.  I will have these pictures forever.  A forever memory stopped in time.  I can always look at these pictures and remember our wedding experience.  Tear!

Lacey

The image below of Sergio and Lacey in front of the Neiman Marcus mannequin is probably my favorite for their session. Love it!!!

Lacey’s main wedding color was purple so when we came across these large purple circles in Downtown Dallas, of course we had to snap some pictures.

I generally love weddings.  Some could say I’m a tad obsessed.  I watch all the wedding shows out there, Say Yes to the Dress, Four Weddings, Amazing Cakes, etc.  You name it, I’ve probably watched every episode like 100 times.  I feel like their is no greater feeling than getting to share a bride and groom’s special day with them.  I get to capture their love on camera and I know the pictures I take will be cherished for years to come.  So with that said, when I get an email like the one below, I get super giddy.  Emails like these just make my day!!

I just wanted to take a minute to express how very happy we are with our wedding pictures.  You were a joy to work with, and it seems you captured every single minute of the event.  The pictures, are sooo creative, and capture the whole evening, not just the wedding ceremony. (Which were great).

Woohoo!!  We absolutely 100% LOVE the pictures!!  They came out great!  I saw your email on my blackberry when I woke up at 6.  I waited (as patiently as I could) until 6:30 to wake Sergio up and look through them together.  You did such a wonderful job of capturing our love for one another (awe).  
 
Also, I got my dress Friday!!  I am super, super excited to share that news, especially… since I got it at Circle Park Bridal!!  I did mention to them that you referred me there.    I attached a few pictures.  Don’t ask me why I think you are so interested, but I can’t help it – I am so very excited!  Dress and e-pic link in one weekend – I’m about to burst!!
