I’m so excited that we have a picture in the Knot Texas Magazine in one of their inspirational pages. It’s pretty exciting to see an image we took in print in the Knot. Yep I know its a bit dorky but I’m a little (ok a lot) giddy about it. It just one of those little things as wedding photographers we get super excited about. I’ve been dying to blog these photos, but I knew I wanted to get these photos published on a wedding blog. I know most of you reading this are probably thinking, why do you have to wait. Well most wedding blogs want to be the first one to publish a particular shoot/wedding. They are in the business of showing the unique sessions and they want to be the first ones to put images up. Ok I’m hoping I’m making sense here. So Wedding Wire published this shoot on their blog, YAY!!!!! (click here to view). So with that said, I can discuss how this shoot came to be. I photographed a wedding that Rachel of Rachel Events was the coordinator for (shout out to Laura, love ya sweetie). I knew through Facebook that Rachel was recently engaged herself. So what do girls do, OMG let me see the ring and we chatted for just a few minutes while guest were enjoying dinner (no one wants pictures of them stuffing their face, right). She talked about wanting to do a theme shoot for an engagement session and I was so down and told her that I would photograph it for her. At first, the shoot was going to be in the oil derricks in Oklahoma. Then when Rachel and I met for lunch to discuss the shoot, she let me know she wanted more of English Victorian feel with a mirrored walk way, a huge birdcage, lots of deep red arrangements. Something very different. I was so down for that. So Bryna with Dr Delphinium, Heidi with Sugar Bee Sweets, and Nicole with Left-Handed Calligrapher got pulled in to help create this Victorian masterpiece. OMG and did they floor me with their brilliance and creativity. So the day before the shoot and the morning of the shoot, I saw it pouring rain. I was like really, we haven’t had rain for months and today of all days. But somehow the rain stopped for the 2-3 hours of our shoot, we were so lucky. And I have to say the gray, muddy, murky day kinda added to that English Victorian feel. It helped give that darker feel to the shoot that we wanted. Rachel, OMG, Rachel was such a trooper, she stomped through the mud and did whatever was need to get “The Shot.” The bottom of her gorgeous white dress was covered in mud by the end but she laughed it off in true Rachel style. Oh and Matt was awesome and he and Rachel are perfect for each other. Whew Ok with all that said, here are the gorgeous pictures

Going through all my images from my weddings in 2010 and I realized that I never shared Ifeanyi and Uju’s Day After Session with you. Why, I don’t know as I love love love this session. I love the Gothic inspired architecture. If memory serves me correctly, these were taken at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. I drove around the area looking for the perfect spot from their session when I found myself at the university. BINGO is the first thing that popped in my head; this is exactly what I am looking for. It was a Sunday afternoon when we took pictures so the campus was pretty empty except for a sports team practicing. They saw Ifeanyi and Uju in their wedding attire and stopped the practice to yell out a Congratulations to them. Mind you, we are up on a hill and pretty far away from them so they yelled pretty loud. I thought it was the coolest thing. These two are the sweetest and Uju was actually the bridesmaid in a past wedding of ours, we were the wedding photographers for their dear friends Ig and Anuli. These four all went to school together in Nigeria and came over to the States to study.

I’m so excited to share this super fun day after session. I have always been a huge fan of the 50′s diner with the checkered floor, jukeboxes and swivel stools that let you twirl around and order a yummy milkshake. So when Meredith wanted to take pictures at Steak and Shake, I was beyond ecstatic and loved the idea immediately. I knew from the get go this would be one of my favorite day after sessions and it didn’t disappoint. And of course being at Steak and Shake we had to incorporate milkshakes into the photos. As promised from yesterday, ok well late last night, here is Geoff and Jaclyn’s wedding at Eldorado Country Club. The wedding couldn’t have been more beautiful. I could see the happiness in Geoff’s eyes when Jaclyn turned the corner and walked towards him. And of course Jaclyn was just beaming when she walked down the aisle with her dad. I teared up from behind my camera, I know I still get emotional at weddings. I think I could count 100+ things I love about this wedding but seeing how happy these two were all night dancing, drinking, and just spending time with their loved ones.
