An Update on Papa Vern and the Moore Family

The Moore Family taken by dallas portrait photographers, K & S Photography

Back in January, I photographed the Moore Family because Papa Vern had been diagnosed with throat cancer and they wanted a family picture before the chemo started. (Click here to see that blog post)

I wanted to give a follow up for those that have followed our blog.  As of August 2nd,  Papa Vern had a scan and it showed him as cancer free.  I know the Moore family is beyond ecstatic and grateful and happy and pretty much any positive word you can think of.   So we are so beyond happy to share with our readers that he is doing well and is cancer free.  This portrait session truly touched by heart and you realize how important a family photo can be.  I write all of this as I tear up.  This is truly a special family and I know their strength and faith in God helped see them through this tough time.

So thank you for all that prayed for the Moore family and I ask that you pray for Papa Vern to get his strength back and that he continues to stay in remission.

Baby Wyatt

Baby pictures by Dallas photographer, K & S Photography

I met up with Shari of As You Wish to photograph her new bundle of joy.  I just love photographing babies especially when they are super expressive like little Wyatt.  Plus its always fun take pictures for my fellow Dallas wedding professionals.

I could tell throughout the session how much Wyatt adores his mommy.  His eyes just light up when he sees her and he gets the biggest smile on his face.  You can tell he is going to be a momma’s boy.  Ok well enough of me doting on Wyatt and onto the pictures.

The Moore Family

As you can tell, I’ve had lots of family sessions lately.  This one is of the Moore Family and I met up with them at their son’s farm in Justin, Tx.  It was freezing that day but we didn’t let that stop us.  I was contacted by Amanda, who works with the amazing Shari Johns at As You Wish.    This session really has a special meaning, not only for me, but for the Moore family.

Amanda let me know the reason she wanted to have family pictures taken is because her dad was just diagnosed with throat cancer and she wanted some pictures before he started his radiation and chemo treatments.  My heart truly goes out to this family and I keep them in my prayers everyday.  I know the struggle ahead for them is going to be hard but this is such a close knit family and there relationship with God will see them through.

I really feel blessed and honored that Amanda asked me to photograph her family.  Amanda has created a blog about her dad’s diagnosis and treatments.  You can follow that blog if you like, http://www.papavern.blogspot.com/.   I ask that you please pray for the Moore family and for Papa Vern to have a quick recovery.

Baby Alex

So as promised, another blog post.  I photographed Alex almost a month ago. Haha, I did get pretty behind posting on the blog.  I took his 9 month year old pics and in about 2 months stay tuned for his 1 year pics.

I just have to say Alex is one of the cutest babies. He has one of the best smiles and overall is just a very happy baby.  Well check out the pictures and see for yourself.

I just love this pic and the expression on little Alex’s face. Priceless!

Ok how cute is this bomber jacket.

Turns the end of the session, Alex started to get tired but I think we got some really cute laughs and smiles. I wish I could take credit for that but dad was amazing in getting him to laugh and smile for the camera.

4 Generations of Women

I’ve been really busy and haven’t had a chance to update the blog like I should be doing.  I will be getting much better about that since I found out this week, K & S has blog stalkers, yes that’s right blog stalkers.  I was so excited to hear that.  So for all my blog stalkers out there (well the 1 maybe 2 of you)  I promise, promise, promise to get better about blogging.

Well now onto the session at hand.  I met up with Pamm Meyers of the ever fabulous Bridal Blooms and Creations for portrait session.  However, this was not just any old portrait session.  This was 4 generations of women.  It was Pamm, her mom, daughter and granddaughter.

We met up in downtown McKinney for their session and had a blast with their cowboy, wait scratch that cowGIRL, get-up and their toy guns.  This is probably one of the funniest shoots I’ve done. There was non-stop laughing and giggling throughout the entire session.

After the session, I joined them for Happy Hour at Rick’s Chophouse.  This was so much fun girls and I hope you love the pictures as much as I do.

So how fabulous are these coats. I just love them!

Thanks girls for letting me be a part of your Four Generation portrait.  I think more people should make a point of doing these.  They are important memories to capture on camera.
