When Randi contacted me to do a Trash the Dress session with her and Eric I was super excited.  We planned the session on 10/10 so it would be on their 1 year wedding anniversary, so sweet right.  We had a few ideas in mind and then decided on the Texas State Fair.  Ok this got me totally stoked.  It’s like a wedding photographers dream to bring a couple in their wedding attire to the fair and get some super cool, fun shots.  And you know I’m all about the fun wedding portraits =)  I wanted to share a few sneak peeks with you.

Philip and Amy’s Wedding Portrait Session | Dallas Wedding Photographers

Dallas Wedding Photographers - Philip and Amy's Wedding Portrait Session

Let me just start out saying, I love love love these pictures!!!! I had such a hard time narrowing down which ones to post on the blog.  If I had it my way, this post would have 100 images.  I just loved working with these two as they are so much fun and Philip loves to make Amy laugh. If you saw the wedding pictures from Philip and Amy’s wedding (if you didn’t click here to see them) you may recognize some of the pictures.  This session was actually done a few weeks before their wedding.  Amy let me know that for her culture, its tradition to take pictures in your wedding attire  so they can then be displayed at the wedding.  The theme for their wedding was movies, so we focused on getting some really cinematic images along with the fun, goofy ones that really show of their personalities.  Philip was nervous getting his picture taken but I think he did an amazing job and I love the pictures where he makes Amy laugh as their personalities shine through and those are my favorite images to capture.

We started their session at the W Hotel in Dallas since that is where their wedding was being held.  Words cannot describe how amazing the W Hotel is to take pictures at plush I had a gorgeous bride and handsome groom to work with.  I was one happy wedding photographer :) I mean just look at the amazing chandeliers, they are to die for!!!!

We actually had to spread their session out over two days because of bad weather and crazy thunderstorms.  When back up a week later, we took pictures at Fountain Place in downtown Dallas and then moved on to some pretty sunset pictures at the Southside on Lamar.

Ifeanyi and Uju’s Day After Session in Connecticut | Destination Wedding Photographers

Dallas Wedding Photographers - Ifeanyi and Uju's Day After Session in ConnecticutGoing through all my images from my weddings in 2010 and I realized that I never shared Ifeanyi and Uju’s Day After Session with you.  Why, I don’t know as I love love love this session.  I love the Gothic inspired architecture.  If memory serves me correctly, these were taken at Trinity College in Hartford,  Connecticut.  I drove around the area looking for the perfect spot from their session when I found myself at the university.  BINGO is the first thing that popped in my head; this is exactly what I am looking for.  It was a Sunday afternoon when we took pictures so the campus was pretty empty except for a sports team practicing. They saw Ifeanyi and Uju in their wedding attire and stopped the practice to yell out a Congratulations to them.  Mind you, we are up on a hill and pretty far away from them so they yelled pretty loud. I thought it was the coolest thing.  These two are the sweetest and Uju was actually the bridesmaid in a past wedding of ours, we were the wedding photographers for their dear friends Ig and Anuli.  These four all went to school together in Nigeria and came over to the States to study.

So enjoy the pictures of this fabulous couple.

Josh and Meredith’s Day After Session at Steak and Shake | Dallas Wedding Photographers

Dallas Wedding Photographers - Josh and Meredith's Day After Session at Steak and Shake

as seen on Style Me PrettyI’m so excited to share this super fun day after session.  I have always been a huge fan of the 50′s diner with the checkered floor, jukeboxes and swivel stools that let you twirl around and order a yummy milkshake.   So when Meredith wanted to take pictures at Steak and Shake, I was beyond ecstatic and loved the idea immediately.  I knew from the get go this would be one of my favorite day after sessions and it didn’t disappoint.  And of course being at Steak and Shake we had to incorporate milkshakes into the photos.   Also I’m super excited because this session is featured on the Style Me Pretty Texas blog, click here to see more pictures from this session. Enjoy :)

Why you should consider a day after session | Dallas Wedding Photographers

Dallas Wedding Photographers- Why you should consider a day after session. Photographs by K & S Photography

I’ve been meaning to write this blog post for a long time now about day after sessions, as I truly feel these are a must for couples.  Your wedding day can be so rushed to get all the formal pictures you want with your family that has flown in, that it doesn’t leave much time for pictures with each other (which are just as important).  Of course we will get great pictures of the both of you on wedding day, but let’s be honest, it’s still a bit stressful, especially knowing you have a room full of people waiting for you.   This is why I recommend doing a day after session. It doesn’t have to be the day after your wedding but maybe a couple of weeks afterwards.

Brides – you get to get all dolled up again – without it being stressful and getting nervous – and see your man in his suit or tux again.  Then you get beautiful pictures taken of the both of you, without the stress, without  everyone watching, and its a moment for you two to kinda relive your wedding day.  Basically, it boils down to both of you are relaxed and happy (no worries of dirtying the dress before the wedding) and it truly shows on camera.     So if you don’t have a day after session scheduled, do it.  I promise you won’t regret it and you will end up with beautiful and amazing pictures to hang in your home.  Just take a look at just a sampling of the day after sessions we have done to see what I mean.
