Stacy and Courtney are getting married this weekend so I wanted to blog their super sweet engagement session.  We went all over Dallas from Lee Park in Turtle Creek to the Dallas Arboretum to Avanti Fountain Place in Downtown Dallas.  I had so much fun with these two and  I know their wedding is going to be a blast.   These two are so loving and caring of each other that it made my job so easy just capturing these wonderful moments between them.

These next set of pictures were taken at the Dallas Arboretum and have to be my favorites. Why? Because when I take engagement pictures I love for us to collaborate as these pictures to be treasured for generations.  The Dallas Arboretum has a very special meaning for Stacy and Courtney; it’s where Stacy got down on one knee, told Courtney he couldn’t live without her, how much he loved her, that she meant the world to her and then asked “will you marry me?”

I had Stacy direct us to where he proposed and I made Courtney sit down on the very same bench and Stacy get down on bended knee and propose again.  The emotions overwhelmed Courtney and she did start crying (I was holding back my tears too).  It means everything to be able to capture those memories and I know it means so much to them.  I know engagement pictures can be taken anywhere but I think its truly special when you can take them at a place that is special to you, that holds joy and happiness for you.

So sweet, right :)

We then headed over to my favorite spot in Downtown Dallas, Avanti Fountain Place.  There is nothing else like it as it feels like this hidden oasis nestled away like a secret garden away from the craziness of the city.

We ended with channeling one’s inner child and running through the fountain.  I love having fun with couples and Stacy and Courtney are a blast.

3 days till you both become husband and wife, YAY!!!! I’m so excited and can’t wait to photograph your wedding and capture more moments like these :)

A Dallas Love Story | Dallas Wedding Photographers

If you have been following my blog for awhile then you know that I also love doing street photography (view here & here)  as well as being a wedding photographer.  I decided to combine both loves and photograph an engagement session in the style of street photography.  The hustle and bustle of the city, the bright lights, and the energy of the people are some of the many reasons why I love photographing in the city.  The style of photographing that makes you feel like you are in that moment.  I also really love capturing the love between two people and there is no greater joy than that.  So here is the combination of the two, please leave a comment or email me at kandsphoto at gmail dot com and let me know what you think :)

I’m so thankful to Sergio and Lacey for being the great friends that they are and braving the cold, almost freezing, night so I could capture this vision I had in my head.  I asked them to be my subjects for this shoot because they love the city life as much as I do.  They love the energy of the city and the life it breaths.  There is always new moments happening to capture with new people and new adventures.  It’s the perfect place to people watch :)

I do plan on doing lots more of this type of engagements and currently I will run a special for this type of session. So let me know if this is something you want to do for your engagement session and we can capture your own love story.

I’m so excited to share Brian and Rosie’s engagement pictures with you because they are getting MARRIED tomorrow!!!! Yay!!! Brian and Rosie are so sweet together and I loved capturing that during their engagement session at the Bishop Arts District in Dallas.  Rosie also introduced me to the best chocolate shop EVER (and I do mean ever) Dude, Sweet Chocolate.  I think I’m now obsessed.   In fact I need to make a mental note to go back down there so I can curb my chocolate addiction.  Yep I admit it I have a chocolate addiction.  Ok I’m so getting off on a tangent here, back to Rosie and Brian. They are getting married tomorrow at Ashton Gardens so stayed tuned for their wedding pictures on Sunday but for now enjoy their fun engagement pictures :)  The one above is my absolute favorite, love it!!!!!

Richard and Anna: Engagements at Rockwall Harbour | Dallas Wedding Photographers

Here is another engagement session I am late in sharing, so sorry.  Engagement sessions really are a chance to capture pictures that have personal meaning to the couple such as taking pictures at the place they met, had their first date, where he proposed, etc  So I was over the moon when Richard and Anna wanted to take their engagement pictures at the location of their first date, so sweet :)  Richard and Anna met through mutual friends when they all went out to eat after church and they starting talking and hit it off immediately.  Their first date was right after that; they went to Gloria’s at the Rockwall Bell Harbour so of course we had to get a picture in front of it. We spent the next hour or so running around Bell Harbour taking pictures and dodging past others taking pictures, kids playing as it was quite a busy day at Bell Harbour with lots of people there.  We managed to scoot past everybody and get some amazing, fun shots.  I also have to point out, we saw the Scooby Mystery Machine so of course we had to get a few pictures with it.

I love these next 2 pictures.  Anna and Richard let me know they have a tendency towards thumb wars so when they sat down, they found themselves in a thumb war, too funny and too cute.

So I’m a teenie bit late with today’s post and a little bit behind on sharing these.  This Spring has been crazy busy for us but we are extremely blessed to get to do what we do and that is to photograph couples in love.  There is nothing more magical then watching 2 people begin this new journey in their lives.  And we get to be there to document that journey, and that is an amazing feeling.

Richie and Jennifer  is that couple that are so in love with each other. it just radiates from them.   I love seeing how much they laugh together, which always got me laughing right there with them.  I seriously don’t know how we managed to get any pictures taken :)  But these ones we got I just LOVE!!!  We walked up and down Deep Ellum in Dallas finding fun little spots for pictures and taking full advantage of the fun, colorful walls.  We even met a really cool club manager that let us use their pool table for some cool shots and go up on the rooftop to get some pictures of downtown Dallas in the background.  I just love how they turned how as they show what a fun couple Richie and Jennifer are.
