Blogging has not been my strongest suit as of late and shame on me for that.  I have a whole slew of bridal, engagement, family sessions to blog for the last six (yes six) months.  Luckily I only have one wedding we photographed from 2011 I still have to blog and I promise to blog it next week.  It’s been on my to do list for a couple of months now, yep that long.

Ok well back to Mandi’s bridal session.  We met up in September at TCU in Fort Worth for her bridals.  Mandi is an alumni of TCU and cheered for them so it meant a lot to Mandi to be able to take her bridal portraits there.  I had never photographed at TCU before so this was so fun and I kept hopping from place to place.  Yes us wedding photographers get super giddy with new locations :)  After we exhausted, yep exhausted, all the spots at TCU we went over to Sundance Square for some fun, night shots.  Haha and Mandi received lots of proposals from the guys we passed.

A Dallas Love Story | Dallas Wedding Photographers

If you have been following my blog for awhile then you know that I also love doing street photography (view here & here)  as well as being a wedding photographer.  I decided to combine both loves and photograph an engagement session in the style of street photography.  The hustle and bustle of the city, the bright lights, and the energy of the people are some of the many reasons why I love photographing in the city.  The style of photographing that makes you feel like you are in that moment.  I also really love capturing the love between two people and there is no greater joy than that.  So here is the combination of the two, please leave a comment or email me at kandsphoto at gmail dot com and let me know what you think :)

I’m so thankful to Sergio and Lacey for being the great friends that they are and braving the cold, almost freezing, night so I could capture this vision I had in my head.  I asked them to be my subjects for this shoot because they love the city life as much as I do.  They love the energy of the city and the life it breaths.  There is always new moments happening to capture with new people and new adventures.  It’s the perfect place to people watch :)

I do plan on doing lots more of this type of engagements and currently I will run a special for this type of session. So let me know if this is something you want to do for your engagement session and we can capture your own love story.

Baby Harper at 1 Week | Dallas Newborn Photographers

So I’m starting off 2012 by blogging Harper’s newborn pics.  She was born a few days before Christmas and we took her pictures on the 30th.  She was my last photo session of 2011.  I find it fitting that Harper’s session is the first one I am blogging in 2012.  The reason is her parents’ wedding was the first wedding I photographed in 2011 (click here to see).  So I start off the 2011 photographing Josh and Meredith’s Wedding at the Wildwood Inn in Denton and I end 2011 by photographing their precious baby girl.  Pretty cool I think :)

Harper is just the cutest baby girl ever!!!!!  I had so much fun photographing her and playing with all the props Meredith had lined up.  I also had the best photo stylist EVER helping out, Amanda who is Meredith’s best friend and part of the wedding planning team at As You Wish so she knows her stuff.  I think my favorite is the pearls, this girl has style already :)  So enjoy the uber cute pictures.

And the Winner of the Best Wedding Moment is . . . | Dallas Wedding Photographers

So I’ve tallied the votes twice and I had two images that were in just a couple of votes of each other.  Well actually the 2nd time I tallied, it was a 1 vote difference.  So just in case my counting skills are off, we have 2 winners :)

Here are the 2 best moments in Dallas wedding history, ok well for the weddings that K & S Photography photographed in 2011.

Mark and Jamie

And the Winner of the Best Wedding Moment is . . . | Dallas Wedding Photographers

I love how happy these two are dancing the night away. They didn’t even know I snapped this photo.

And Todd and Mandi

Todd was supposed to hand his mother a white rose as he walked down the aisle but forgot. Mandi so nicely reminded him and his expression is classic.

Now I have had several people say that the 16×20 canvas both receive should be these images. What do you think?

We want to thank all of our brides and grooms that entrusted us with the most important day in their lives in 2011.  It meant so much to us to capture these special memories with you and experiencing all the emotions a wedding day brings.  We know for some that 2011 has been an over the top year filled with not only the changes of getting married but welcoming a child into the world, buying a house, moving to a new state, expecting triplets (yep one of our sweet brides is pregnant with triplets).

I also want to thank everyone who voted, we will be walking up to the doors of the North Texas Food Bank next week with 159 cans of food YAY!!!!!!!

Here is to a wonderful 2011 and to a new, exciting year.
