The John’s Family

I can’t believe that Christmas is just a few short days.  For the next for days we will be showcasing our family portraits because that is one of the most important things about the Holidays, spending time with your loved ones.  First up is the John’s Family.   Shari Johns is one of the best wedding planners is Dallas; She owns As You Wish Events, so it was such as honor that she entrusted me to photograph her family.  We met up at the Frisco Heritage Museum to get some fun, candid family shots.

I just love her two boys, they are the sweetest kids and just adorable.  After we finished the session, we enjoyed a meal at Babe’s Chicken and there were a couple of girls who couldn’t take their eyes off of Austin. I’m sure Wyatt is going to be the same way (who just turned 1 so Happy Birthday Wyatt)   Oh and let me mention how gorgeous their eyes are, they certainly take after Shari.

I feel it is always important during family sessions to get pictures of just mom and dad.  I just love this one of Bobby and Shari.  So sweet!!!

Matt and Megan Engaged in Dallas

I met up with Matt and Kelly at Turtle Creek in Dallas for their engagement pictures; I’m super excited to share these.  Matt is one of my husband’s best friends and was a groomsmen in our wedding and Ray will be one of Matt’s groomsmen.  Matt is a really upstanding guy and a true gentleman and he will do anything for Megan.

Haha I don’t know if I should share this but I’m going to anyways.  Matt does try to come off a bit macho, probably due to his service in the marines (which I have such a high respect for him for doing so).  Even though we have been friends for years, he still felt a little uncomfortable in front of the camera so I lighten the mood a bit by having him and Megan skip towards me (if you know Matt you know this is something he would never do).  He glanced at Megan and sighed and said ok.  I couldn’t keep my composure and my husband (who usually assist me on sessions) started cracking up laughing and so did Megan.  I think she knew what we were up to.  Needless to say that did loosen Matt up a little bit and we had a really fun session. (disclaimer: for any guys out there, no I don’t normally make you skip, I promise).

Both Matt and Megan are huge football fans so they changed into their favorite team’s jersey and we captured some fun, playful pictures.

Photographs by Dallas Wedding Photographers, K & S PhotographI had to include the ones of Matt below.  Mat always likes to give me a hard time so here so my hard time back at him.  Again, I’m only posting these because Matt is such a good friend.  He was being silly and of course I’m going to capture it and I told him I would post it.  Megan encouraged me to do so as well.

Matt and Megan’s wedding will be in May on the lake.  I am so happy for these two as they are truly meant to be.  I am so honored to be your wedding photographer.  To all my blog stalkers, stay tuned for May and you will get to see some really goofy pictures of my husband :)

What a Wedding Photographer does on their (so called) Spare Time

Christmas Cookie Bouquets. Photographs by Dallas Wedding Photographers, K & S Photography

A year ago I dabbled with making a cookie bouquet, not really sure what inspired it, but I had a lot of fun baking.   My first attempt tasted great (I make the sugar cookie dough from scratch), but when it came to putting it together, I had a ton of trouble with the icing smearing.  I posted my success/failure on Facebook and Sarah from Sweet Art Bakery was so kind to let me know that I had to let the icing set for 24 hours (thank you so much for helping a novice baker Sarah).  I made another one a month or so later and it turned out much  better.  Since I had  success in the past, I decided for my Christmas gifts I would make cookie bouquets.  I am so happy to say that these are my best yet and I think they turned out so cute.  I have to give credit to my husband Ray too as he helped decorate some (ok a lot) of the cookies.  Thank you sweetie, you are the best!!! And of course being a photographer, I had to photograph my creation :)

I had so much fun driving around Dallas and Fort Worth yesterday dropping these off and I hope everyone enjoyed them.

Furry Friends

Amanda and Barrett. Photographs by Dallas Photographers, K & S Photography

Yesterday I showed my furry friends and now I wanted to show case two more very special fur children.  First up is Barrett.  He is Amanda’s baby, she is crazy about her dog um I mean fur kid.  We met up  in McKinney so we could get some pictures of Barrett for Amanda’s Christmas card on November 1st.  Ok not trying to get sad here but if you are a blog-stalker then you know that I lost my grandmother that day and I mentioned in my post dedicated to her that I had a session to do that day.  Well this was the one.  I was absolutely devastated that day but I went ahead with this session because I knew Barrett would make me laugh.  And did he.

Amanda bought some cute toys and one of them didn’t even last 30 seconds (see image below of Amanda and Barrett playing tug of war).  So I wanted to thank Barrett (and Amanda) for bringing a smile to my face that day and making me laugh (I so needed it)

Next up is Amy’s fur kid.  She is the cutest fur child with the bow. It is so precious.  These were actually taken back in August (I believe) so it was really hot out.  I think they turned out so cute!!!

Amy had seen a picture I had done with a dog in a tutu (she was the unofficial flower girl at a wedding I photographed) and wanted some pictures of her dog. So enjoy these cute pictures!!

My fur kids

Pictures of Roxxy. Photographs by Dallas Photographers, K & S Photography

For anyone that is friends with me on Facebook knows I talk about my fur kids (a lot) and most of the pictures I post are ones taken with my i-Phone (so they quality isn’t the greatest).  So here are some professional, non-iPhone pictures of Roxxy (above) and Napoleon.  I have posted some pictures of them playing, no worries Napoleon doesn’t get hurt (I promise).  Roxxy is actually very gentle (even thought it doesn’t look like it).  These two are best friends and literally are like two peas in a pod.  I really couldn’t ask for better fur kids.  I hope you enjoy the pictures :)
